Columbus police looking for female witness in 2019 homicide

Police say Jabri Curry heard a knock on his door and when he answered the door, he was shot by an unknown suspect.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police are looking for a female witness who officials say was at the scene of a homicide that happened in 2019. 

On Nov. 20, 2019, at around 5:30 a.m., 25-year-old Jabri Curry was inside his apartment in the 2000 block of West Broad Street with two women. 

According to police, Curry heard a knock and when he answered opened the door, he was shot by an unknown suspect.

Police said the suspect then fled the scene on foot potentially with one of the women. 

Curry was taken to Grant Medical Center where he died at 7:17 a.m.

Detectives are now looking for the female witness who left the apartment before police arrived.
