A woman says she has snapped a picture of the alleged loose howler monkey.

The monkey was first spotted February 4 by a Minerva Park Police Officer in the  2800 block of Lakewood Dr.

Tierra Sullivan took the photo of what she said is the monkey about a mile south of Minerva Park.

Minerva Park Police confirmed they had one reported sighting Monday morning in the 2400 block of Stonehenge Dr.

Last week, police and agents with the Department of Agriculture searched for the animal but were unable to find it.

Minerva Park Police said if you see this animal, do not approach it. They said these animals are afraid of people but can be territorial.

If anyone spots the animal, they are reminded to call 614-525-3333.
