Columbus Police to conduct sobriety checkpoint Friday night

The checkpoint is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. and continue until 3 a.m. Saturday.

Columbus Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in the Brewery District Friday night.

The checkpoint will be located on S. High St. at Deshler Ave.

“When analyzing crash statistics over the past five years, it was discovered there are large intersections near this location that have an inordinate number of crashes involving an impaired driver,” Columbus Police Traffic Bureau Sergeant Michael Smith said.

The checkpoint is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. and continue until 3 a.m. Saturday.
