Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West has pleaded guilty to weapons and traffic charges.
West entered his plea Thursday in Prince George's County Circuit Court.
Judge Graydon McKee sentenced him to eight months of electronic monitoring, two years ofunsupervised probation, 40 hours of community service and psychological counseling.
West told the judge that he knows he has been "put on a pedestal" because he can "dribble abasketball" and worries about letting down youth who look up to athletes.
West was accompanied in court by his mother, girlfriend and uncle.
Authorities say the basketball player was carrying two loaded handguns, a loaded shotgun andan 8 1/2-inch Bowie knife while speeding on a three-wheel motorcycle on the Capital Beltway in lastSeptember.
