Firefighters are battling a suspicious blaze in the parking lot of an east Columbus body shop.
The fire was first discovered by AEP workers, who were responding to a reported power outage at a Kroger on E. Main Street around 3:30 a.m. Monday.
When they arrived, they discovered multiple cars burning in the parking lot at AJ Auto Service on Holtzman Avenue, a body shop nearby, and called firefighters.
Small explosions could be heard from tires popping as crews try to contain the flames.
Firefighers extinguished the flames in about 40 minutes.
Investigators are calling the fire suspicious.
