New Abortion Legislation Proposed For Ohio

A group proposed legislation on Wednesday that would alter abortion legislation.

The nationwide coalition of anti-abortion groups wants a law requiring pregnant women to see and hear the fetal heartbeat before having an abortion, 10TV News reported.

"It's exciting and I believe Ohio is ready to lead again," said Janet Porter of Faith2Action. "We're about ready to make history by passing the most protected pro-life legislation in the nation."

The push comes as a similar bill is being moved through the Ohio Legislature.

The legislation, called The Heartbeat Bill, would ban abortions once the fetal heartbeat could be detected.
