COLUMBUS, Ohio -- When it comes to children's hospitals, Columbus is home to one of the best in the country. That's according to the U.S. News & World Report's Best Children's Hospitals Honor Roll.

Nationwide Children's Hospital came in at number seven in this year's report.

The 2018-19 Honor Roll designation marks the fifth consecutive year NCH has received this recognition.

Nationwide Children's U.S. News & World Report's 2018-19 Best Children's Hospitals specialty rankings include:

Cancer — #5
Pulmonary Medicine — #6
Neurology and Neurosurgery — #7
Orthopedics — #9
Urology — #10
Nephrology — #11
Gastroenterology and GI Surgery — #11
Diabetes & Endocrinology — #18
Neonatology — #15
Cardiology and Heart Surgery — #29

"This recognition serves as evidence of the compassion and hard work of our dedicated staff," said Steve Allen, MD, Nationwide Children's CEO. "The external validation reinforces Nationwide Children's continued commitment to delivering the best outcomes for our patients and their families."

The annual rankings recognize the top 50 pediatric facilities across the U.S. in 10 pediatric specialties. Hospitals received points for being ranked in a specialty, and higher-ranking hospitals receive more points. The Best Children's Hospitals Honor Roll recognizes the 10 hospitals that received the most points overall.

This year's rankings will be published in the U.S. News & World Report's "Best Hospitals 2019" guidebook, available in stores late September.
