Name of Suspect Released in Deadly Officer-Involved Shooting In Northwest Columbus


One man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in northwest Columbus.

Police said it happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 2200 block of Siskin Avenue.

The location is reportedly a group home for the developmentally disabled.

Officers said they were originally called out for a disturbance call.  A woman said she locked herself inside a restroom because a client was threatening to kill her.

When they arrived, officers said they confronted a man with a knife near the front door of the home.

Police said one officer fired, hitting the man.  Police have now identified him as Patrick L. Jones. He died at the scene.

No one else was injured.
