Motorcyclist killed in southeast Columbus crash identified

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in southeast Columbus on Thursday, according to police.

Police said the motorcyclist hit a construction barrel after 7 p.m. on State Route 104 in the westbound lanes near Alum Creek Drive.

The person was taken to Grant Medical Center and later pronounced dead, according to police. He has since been identified as Curtis R. Poindexter, 41, of Columbus.

SR-104 was closed at US-33 but has since reopened.
