Mother calls police after spotting son in surveillance photos of alleged theft

A mother contacted Columbus police after she saw her son in surveillance photos during an alleged theft.

Columbus Police posted photos on social media of both suspects last week.

Police said the suspects were caught on camera stealing more than $6,000 worth of musical instruments from a home on S.17th Street in late September.

The pair also stole an iPad, an Xbox, a camera and a Dell laptop, according to police.

The mother called police and identified her son and his accomplice.

Police said charges are currently pending and they are thankful for the parent doing the right thing.
