COLUMBUS, Ohio - After 23 years, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show has been canceled, according to long-time model Shanina Shaik.

According to People Magazine, Shaik spoke with the Daily Telegraph in Australia where she broke the news, saying she's a bit disappointed.

The lingerie brand is owned by L Brands, based in Columbus.

When asked why the show was going on hiatus, Shaik said it could be because the brand is "trying to work on branding and new ways to do the show.”

Back in May, CNBC reported that a memo from L Brands owner Les Wexner was sent to L Brand employees, saying the show might not be broadcast on television any longer.

It was first live broadcast on television in 2001.
