Mary Taylor says she won't drop out of governor's race

After two Republican candidates announced a merger in the race to be Ohio's next governor, Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor said she's going to remain in the running.

"Today I want to assure Ohioans that I am in this race because I care deeply and passionately about our state. And I am in it to win. Ohio wants a Governor who will challenge the status quo, not accede to it," Taylor said.

Taylor made her announcement a few hours after Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Secretary of State Jon Husted announced a joint ticket.

"Mike DeWine represents yesterday's solutions to tomorrow's problems. I will fight for Ohio's future," she said.
