LANCASTER, Ohio -- The Lancaster Post with the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Fairfield County.

It happened just after 8 p.m. Tuesday on Coonpath Road in Greenfield Township.

According to OSHP, Terry J. Morris Jr, 48, of Lancaster, was riding with a female passenger east on Coonpath Road on a Harley Davidson when a GMC Envoy driven by a 16-year-old female failed to stop at the US 33 exit ramp at Coonpath Road. The SUV drove into the path and struck the motorcycle, killing Morris and injuring his passenger.

The passenger on the motorcycle was airlifted by Med-Flight to Grant Medical Center with serious injuries. The juvenile driver and passenger in the Envoy were treated for minor injuries on the scene.

Investigators say neither rider on the motorcycle was wearing a safety helmet.
