Man killed in south Columbus shooting


COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man is dead following a shooting in south Columbus Saturday night.

It happened in the 300 block of Stanaford Place. Columbus police say the first call came just after 7:30 p.m.

A victim was taken to Grant Medical Center but was pronounced dead at 8:08 p.m.

Police later identified the victim as 66-year-old Wiley Ross and he was shot multiple times.

Officers on scene told 10TV Ross was in the house when he was shot and that the shooting appeared to be a drive-by.

No suspect information was immediately available.

This is the 45th homicide of the year in Columbus.
