Man charged with murder following shooting of in-law in north Columbus, police say

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police say a man has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting in north Columbus early Wednesday morning.

Responders were called to a residence in the 1300 block of Pershing Drive shortly before 6:30 a.m. to find a man who had been shot. The victim, identified as 33-year-old Jeremy Huff, was pronounced dead by medics at 6:37.

Police say the suspect, 34-year-old Robert Michael Bowling, remained at the scene and called 911. He is charged with murder.

According to police, the two men are related through Bowling's marriage and Huffman was staying with at his residence. The two men got into an argument, leading to the shooting.
