KNOX COUNTY, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash involving a buggy and a recreational vehicle in Knox County.

OSHP said the crash happened around 3:40 p.m. Friday on Wooster Road near Yarman Road, which is northeast of Mount Vernon.

A release from OSHP says Earnest Bennett failed to stop his RV and hit an Amish buggy from behind. The impact ejected 35-year-old Albert Miller and his two children from the buggy.

Miller's 13-year-old son, Andy, died at the scene. Miller was flown to Mt. Carmel with serious injuries. His five-year-old son was flown to Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Highway Patrol says Bennett may have been under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Charges have been filed on Bennett and are pending court proceedings, according to OSHP.
