PATASKALA -- Lynd Fruit Farm announced via a temporary Facebook page that it will have to cancel its highly-popular u-pick weekend for two types of apples.

The farm made the announcement due to both the heavy rains and high heat of the summer.

Grower Andy Lynd in Pataskala (puh-TAS'-kuh-luh) in central Ohio tells the Columbus Dispatch half the farm's Honeycrisp apples have fallen victim to disease, leading to the cancellation of an annual pick-your-own event.
