The Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks are open every day of the year and they're free, making them a perfect place for a date.

Sean Bynes and Haley Shepherd went back to the place where it all started.

"Around here, you feel like you're the only two," Bynes says about Three Creeks Metro Park.

Five years ago, they shared that special time on their first date and it didn't take long for them to realize their feelings.

"I knew he was the one," Shepherd says.

"I just thought 'I like this one, I'm going to keep her around for a while,'" Bynes says.

Ever since then, the park has been a special place for them.

The two also have a special bench where they talk and exchange presents.

So, it should come as no surprise that Sean and Haley got engaged at a park near Kent State University.

Now, the two are ready to make it official, and their wedding venue is the obvious choice.

"Oct. 26, we're going to get married at High Banks Metro Park. It's going to be very special and I can't wait," Shepherd says.
