GALLOWAY, Ohio – A heroic rescue of a dog stuck in an icy pond near Galloway last week was featured on A&E's "Live PD" Saturday night.

The scene showed Lt. Edward Schillig of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office responding to the call Wednesday afternoon of a dog that fell into a pond.

The Prairie Township Fire Department and members of the sheriff’s office responded to the pond off of Amity Road, where a dog could be seen struggling to get out of the freezing water.

Responders were able to pull the dog to safety. He was then taken to a local veterinarian.

In a Facebook post by MedVet in Hilliard, the dog, named Jake, was treated with plenty of warmth and released the next morning.
