Limited Stores laying off hundreds of employees at New Albany headquarters

NEW ALBANY, Ohio – Limited Stores LLC plans to lay off more than 240 employees who work at the New Albany headquarters.

The company alerted the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in November.

A letter Limited Stores sent to the ODJFS stated 248 jobs are impacted and it was possible that the entire New Albany facility may be closed.

Florida-based Sun Capital Partners owns the retail chain. Sun Capital bought The Limited from locally based L Brands in 2007.

Back in November, 10TV learned multiple companies were in talks to buy Limited stores.

A company spokesperson told 10TV, "Limited Stores, like many of its peers, is facing ongoing challenges in the current retail environment. The company is exploring a number of options to address these challenges and provide greater financial flexibility."

The first Limited store in the country opened at Kingsdale Shopping Center in Upper Arlington in 1963.
