Last call for alcohol springs forward this weekend

The Division of Liquor Control sending a reminder to all retail liquor permit holders and the public with Daylight Saving Time this weekend.

Businesses normally authorized to sell alcohol until 2:30 a.m. are required to adjust to the time change and stop alcohol sales 30 minutes early.

“Time will spring forward from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. this Sunday, making it a half hour past the legal closing times for bars and restaurants,” Superintendent Jim Canepa said. “Those establishments have to stop their alcohol sales at that time.”
