'I love Ohio State': Dom Tiberi's 1-on-1 with Urban Meyer

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer talked with 10TV's Dom Tiberi Thursday night after the team was honored on the court at the OSU basketball game.

Meyer talked about celebrating the 2018 season and said "life is good."

Meyer stepped away from coaching at the end of the season.

"Two constituencies you always have to be grateful for — number one is the student body, number two are the fans. Buckeye Nation is second to none,” Meyer said.

He went on to talk about the recent recruiting class — the first under new head coach Ryan Day.

“We are very proud of the culture of the program," Meyer said. "Ryan’s done a great job and it’s an excellent recruiting class.”

Now that he is done coaching, Meyer is teaching a character and leadership course at Ohio State, serving as an assistant athletic director and will reportedly be a college football analyst with Fox Sports.

Meyer said the new teaching gig is going great and he and athletics director Gene Smith are tackling leadership initiatives with the athletic department.

He said the new jobs are keeping him occupied.

Meyer said he appreciates the love from Buckeye Nation.

“I love Ohio State,” Meyer said.
