Heartland High School announced Hoda Kotb as the keynote speaker at their Campaign Kick-off Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. March 24 in the Ivory Room at Miranova.

Tuesday, NBC announced Hoda would be replacing Matt Lauer as the co-anchor on the Today Show.

“Heartland High School is thrilled that Hoda has agreed to support our Campaign Kick-Off in March. She understands the severity of the addiction crisis facing Central Ohio and wants to help any way she can. Hoda supports Heartland’s mission of giving adolescents struggling with substance use disorder a chance to graduate and become healthy and productive adults,” said Laurie Elsass, one of Heartland’s board members in a press release.

Kotb joined NBC in 1998, and has served as co-host of the fourth hour of the Today Show alongside Kathie Lee Gifford. She has also covered the Olympics for NBC, has been a New York Times best-selling author, and has won several Gracie awards.

Heartland High School plans on opening its doors in the Fall of 2018. In addition to being an accredited non-public charter high school with the State of Ohio, it will offer specialized recovery support for its students.

Heartland will offer sliding scale tuition as well as full scholarship opportunities for students who want to work hard, stay sober and graduate.
