COLUMBUS, Ohio Starting Friday, April 3, Giant Eagle will launch a dedicated shopping hour for first responders at all supermarkets on Thursdays and Fridays. On those days, the stores will open an hour early at 6 a.m.

In March, Giant Eagle announced stores will close on hour earlier to allow employees to clean and stock stores.

Instead of 10 p.m., the company says all Giant Eagle and Market District locations will close at 9 p.m. starting Sunday, March 29.

GetGo hours will vary by location.

Giant Eagle also announced an online resource that reflects locations that have had an employee test positive for coronavirus. That list can be found here.

As of Friday, there was one affected location in Ohio, which was a GetGo store in Brunswick.

Giant Eagle locations have also started opening one hour early on select days for customers who are age 60 and older, differently-abled or immune-compromised.

Those hours start at 6 a.m. Monday through Wednesday for those shoppers.
