MARTINSVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) — Tyler Christopher, best known for his appearances in "General Hospital", was arrested earlier this week in Martinsville, which is about 30 miles south of Indianapolis.

The soap actor pleaded guilty to two counts of misdemeanor public intoxication following his arrest.

Court documents show that Christopher was charged on two separate occasions for public intoxication— Saturday, Nov. 8 and Tuesday, Nov. 11, which was his 47th birthday.

According to documents, his BAC was a .267 on Nov. 8, which is more than three times the legal limit. He was transported to IU Morgan ER for injuries to his face and head.

In the second incident, police found him inside an Uber. Documents show that Christopher had signed himself out of IU Health Methodist Hospital earlier that evening against medical advice.

Judge Mark Peden ordered Christopher to spend 16 days in jail for each case, the Reporter-Times reported. However, he suspended his jail time if Christopher agreed to pay a fine of $440 by Nov. 20.

Christopher portrayed the role of Nikolas Cassadine on "General Hospital" between 1996 and 2016. He earned a Daytime Emmy Award for the role in 2016. He also has appeared on "Days of Our Lives" as Stefan DiMera.
