Fuel Spill Closes I-71 North, Columbus Buses Will Be Delayed

A fuel spill on I-71 North forced authorities to close the road on Tuesday.

I-71 North was closed at I-670 around 12:30 p.m.

Officials said the reported spill was a half mile south of the Hudson Street exit.

Drivers are being forced to exit either I-670 east or west.

The driver of the truck tells 10TV there was a mechanical failure in the drivetrain, which damaged the fuel and hydraulic lines, resulting in the spill.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says the following entrance ramps to I-71 north are also closed: 5th, 11th, and 17th

The Columbus School District says buses will be delayed Tuesday evening due to the I-71 closing.
