Friends And Family Remember Life Of Mother Kidnapped and Murdered

Friends and family gathered for a vigil tonight to remember a mother of six who was kidnapped and murdered in Tennessee.

Loved ones say Lisa Hyder made some mistakes in life, but they're all struggling with the shocking details of her death.

"She was a sweetheart," said Hyder's cousin Shelly VanHoose. "She was a very kind person, always there when you needed her."

Friends and family lit candles and shared memories of Lisa Hyder, who spent her childhood in Central Ohio before moving to Tennessee.

Family members say the mother of six children got caught up in alcohol and drugs. She was arrested for prostitution but no one imagined her life would end so violently.

Police say Gregory Hale offered to give Hyder a ride in Tennessee last week. Police say he took Lisa to his parents' home where he murdered her, ate part of her body, and buried her torso.

"There's no words. Evil. He's satan. The devil," said VanHoose.

On Saturday, friends and family focused on celebrating Lisa's life by releasing balloons in the air. All of them wishing they could turn back the hands of time.

"Wishing I could have told her I loved her, missed her," VanHoose said.
