Franklin Co. Sees The Light After Transformer Blows

A blown transformer left thousands of Franklin County residents without power on Friday night.

It came as a surprise to many people who live, work and play in the Short North, 10TV’s Danielle Elias reported.

"We're lighting some candles and cozying up," Short North resident Christina Wicks said. "I've got my nice wool jacket...probably a good time to run some errands."

There was no power to serve food for the restaurants along High Street, so managers had to improvise, Elias reported.

"I put on Facebook requesting any food trucks that want to come and hang out in front of The Rossi," The Rossi Manager Karmen Dann said. "At least we have great weather so we can have the door open."

Dann grabbed a battery-powered boom-box to give some customers some reprieve.

The power returned several hours later.
