A firefighter in Asheville, North Carolina is receiving lots of praise on social media after he went the extra mile to serve his community.

Firefighter Jon Sgroi was responding to a medical call after someone in the community slipped and fell in their front walkway.

The spouse told Sgroi that they were going to rent a power washer to clean the walkway.

Instead of letting the couple rent a power washer, he took matters into his own hands and brought his personal power washer a few days later. Sgroi washed the couple's walkway himself.

The Asheville Fire Fighters Association shared a photo of Sgroi on Facebook.

"That's the kind of service our members pride themselves on," the Asheville Fire Fighters Association said in the post.
