Firefighter injured while battling blaze at vacant hotel in north Columbus

COLUMBUS -- One firefighter received minor injuries while battling a blaze at a vacant hotel Monday night in north Columbus.

According to Columbus Fire Division Battalion Chief Steve Martin, the fire was in a small area on the fifth floor. Martin said that investigators were en route to the scene and that it was likely some people were living at the hotel.

The hotel formerly was a Ramada located at 4900 Sinclair Drive.

The injured firefighter was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital. The fire was contained at 8:19 p.m.
