Facebook tweaks lead to decline in time spent on site

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's attempts to fix the site may be backfiring.

That's because people are spending less time on the social media service.

He told investors tweaks made to the site’s content has led to a five-percent drop in total time users spend on it.

Facebook also is reporting its first ever decline in daily users in the U.S. and Canada.

The decline is said to stem from a decision to show fewer viral videos in the news feed.

However, Zuckerberg had already predicted the drop, but said it would ultimately improve the quality of the user experience.
