Express Scripts to close Columbus location, lay off more than 400 employees

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Express Scripts is going to close its Columbus site on Phillipi Road which will result in 456 employees losing their jobs, according to a letter filed with the state.

The closure and layoffs are expected to happen on or shortly after June 10, according to the letter.

The company processes mail-order prescriptions.

The news comes after the company announced a $67 billion merger with Cigna, the nation's fifth-largest health insurance company.

Express Scripts also has a location in Dublin, Ohio.
