Exploding Rifle Targets Source Of Reported Buckeye Lake 'Explosions'

Buckeye Lake Police Chief James Hanzey said on Wednesday that he has found the source of the reported Buckeye Lake explosions from last week.

According to Hanzey, a group of men were legally shooting exploding rifle targets on their own property on May 16.

The men purchased four-pound exploding targets and shot them with a .223 caliber weapon.

The explosion and shockwave scared the young men, who quickly left the area, Hanzey said. The men were the same people who witnesses reported as "four juveniles seen fleeing the area."

No charges will be filed, because no laws were broken, according to Hanzey.
