Electrical fire forced evacuation at Deer Creek State Park Lodge

PICKAWAY COUNTY - Overheating caused a smell of smoke overnight at the Deer Creek State Park Lodge, according to the Tri County Joint Fire District.

Fire Chief Dave Taylor says the building, which has been around since the 60’s, had an electrical issue in the gift shop area of the lodge.

Firefighters were forced to evacuate all guest from the building while they conducted their investigation.

The guest were permitted back into the lodge just before 6 a.m.
