Denise Nickerson, who played Violet in 'Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory,' dies at 62

Denise Nickerson, best known for her role as Violet Beauregarde in the 1971 film "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory," has died at the age of 62, CBS Los Angeles reports.

Family members made the announcement on Facebook shortly after midnight on Thursday,

Nickerson suffered from a severe stroke in June 2018, according to CBS Los Angeles.

In her acting career, Nickerson also appeared in shows such as "The Brady Bunch" and "Dark Shadows."
