The newest K-9 deputy in Delaware County has already had a busy first week on the job.

According to a post by the sheriff’s office, Kahless, a 13-month-old Belgian Malinois, has made four drug busts in his first five days including meth and heroin.

“Kahless and his handler, Deputy Brandon Hunter, passed their state certification 10 days ago, following a lengthy and intense training program. Kahless is already deeply loyal to his partner and is eager to please,” the post said.

Kahless joins two other Belgian Malinois, Cash and Essac, with the sheriff’s office.
