Coroner: Death of man found inside van ruled accidental overdose

COLUMBUS, Ohio – An autopsy obtained from the Franklin County Coroner Monday confirmed that an overdose was the cause of death for a man found dead inside a van.

Columbus Police investigated a suspicious death July 3 on Pontiac Street in north Columbus.

Detectives were called to the rear of a home in the 2400 block of Pontiac Street around 7:35 p.m. where officers found a man dead inside a van.

Police identified 30-year-old Danny Parker Jr. as the deceased, but it was not clear how he died at the time.

A completed autopsy determined the death to be accidental by overdose, according to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
