POWELL, Ohio — At five weeks old, the newest addition to te polar bear family at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium is starting to take its first steps.

The cub, born on Thanksgiving Day to mother Aurora and father Lee, can be seen on video shared by the zoo waddling around and taking some little steps.

"While momma bear was getting a drink of water, the little one took the opportunity to stretch his or her legs! The animal care team says that the cub is big and strong," the zoo wrote on Facebook.

The zoo has not disclosed the sex of the cub yet and previously had said Aurora and her cub will remain in their private denning area behind the scenes until spring.
