A first of its kind collaboration is streamlining the process from community college to private university.

Columbus State Community College and Capital University are bringing the campuses together to make a seamless transition for transfer students.

They have a team of faculty, administrators and students coming looking at specific aspects of student life to develop a plan. Columbus State students will be integrated into the Capital campus at the start of their education.

“Treating the students, not as Capital students and not as Columbus State students, but as our students,” said Capital University Provost of Learning Jody Fournier. “Opportunity to participate in our student organizations, to take courses, athletics, internships.”
