Columbus police searching for man who tried to use counterfeit money in Gahanna

COLUMBUS - Columbus police say they are looking for a man they believe tried to use counterfeit money at a Kroger Marketplace Fuel Center.

It happened on April 18, 2019 around 9:15 in the evening at a Kroger Marketplace Fuel Center on South Hamilton Road in Gahanna.

A man tried to use a counterfeit $50.00 bill. The clerk realized the bill was counterfeit and called police.

Prior to the officer's arrival, the suspect left after paying with a valid $20.00 bill.

The man appears to have a tattoo on his right hand.
