Columbus police officer injured after accidental shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- An officer was injured Wednesday in an accidental shooting at a police substation in west Columbus.

Columbus Division of Police PIO Dean Worthington tells 10TV the officer is expected to be OK after accidentally shooting himself in the leg.

Medics were called around 8:55 a.m. to the Big Run Park substation. The officer was transported to Grant Medical Center in stable condition, according to police.

No other details were immediately available. The name of the officer has not been released by Columbus Police.
