The Columbus Police Department has arrested one suspect connected to a serial rape investigation.

Eric Allan Pearce-Robinson, 19, was arrested and charged with one count of rape.

Police said a forensic evidence report identified Pearce-Robinson as one of the suspects from the sexual assault in the area of Sullivant Avenue and South Burgess Avenue on May 19.

The assault on Sullivant Avenue is the most recent on the city's west side that police believe is connected to two other cases.

The first assault occurred April 18 in the area of 472 Brehl Avenue. The victim stated she was approached by three white males before being assaulted.

A second incident happened April 24 in the 2000 block of Sullivant Avenue. The female said she was approached by two men in a black or blue newer model vehicle. That victim was sexually assaulted in the vehicle.

Police said there is a possibility the assaults are gang-related because of the guns and amount of suspects from each incident.

Detectives from the Special Victims Bureau continue to investigate all three recent assaults.
