Columbus Police will be conducting two sobriety checkpoints Friday into Saturday.

The first will be located at Livingston Ave. at S. Grant Ave. near the downtown area. It will run from 9 to 11 p.m Friday night.

A second will be operated on Neil Ave. at W. Nationwide Blvd. in the Arena District. It will run from 1 to 3 a.m. Saturday.

“These are major arterial roadways with freeway access through both residential and business districts, and are coupled with significant rates of impaired driving crashes,” Sergeant Michael Smith said.

Those who will consume alcohol are reminded to plan for a designated driver and make sure others do not drive while impaired.
