COLUMBUS, Ohio — As Christmas approaches, a local organization is working to ensure hundreds of children in central Ohio have gifts to open Christmas morning.

The St. Vincent Family Center, a center that specializes in both mental and behavioral health, began gathering gifts in October.

Organizers tell 10TV employees within the agency select children based on financial needs to participate in the family adoption program.

“It’s unexplainable and it just makes your heart melt,” said Development Manager Debbie Huff. “It just reiterates how donors still want to give to families and give to agencies like us and it is just wonderful.”

In all, there are more than 1,100 children from more than 300 families participating in the annual event.
