Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther delivers 2020 State of the City address

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Mayor Andrew J. Ginther delivered his 2020 State of the City of Columbus address Thursday evening.

In the speech at West High School, Ginther focused on a variety of topics and issues in the city, touching first on racism.

"Racism is real. Discrimination is real," he said within the first minutes of appearing on stage. "So, what I am sharing tonight is my Equity Agenda — an agenda that calls out racism and discrimination where it exists and my plans to address it as your mayor."

From there, Ginther spoke on infant mortality, education, pay disparity, community redevelopment, police expectations and addiction.
