Columbus International Auto Show offers family friendly option

The Columbus International Auto Show is rolling into the Greater Columbus Convention Center Wednesday. It showcases the latest and greatest in automotive technology. Organizers said this year's show is more family-friendly than before.

"It's a no pressure environment,” said Kelly Danison, the Director of Columbus International Auto Show.

You won’t have a salesperson hounding you to buy. In fact, you can take a car out on the open road without having to crunch numbers at a dealership. Honda, Toyota, and Subaru are all offering ride and drives.

It almost feels like an automobile playground for adults while there are 15,000 square feet of fun for the kids. And don't worry about missing March Madness. Bleachers and a big screen are in place so you don't miss a minute of tournament play.

While the kids take in all the activities, treat yourself to a stroll down luxury lane.

“You are simply here to enjoy, check out, ask questions. You can get your hands on the vehicle. Some of them are still powered up so you can touch the screens and the buttons and see if your kids fit in the backseat or you golf clubs fit in the trunk,” said Danison.

Don't forget to stop by the Maria's Message simulator. It's a great learning experience for drivers of all ages.

The show will be open March 15-16 from 12-9 p.m., March 17 from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and March 18 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults at the box office ($8 online), $5 for students with ID and children (9 & under) are free when accompanied by an adult.
