A Delaware County judge set Dr. David Ryan, a central Ohio chiropractor's bond at $75,000 after he was indicted on 82 charges related to child pornography Friday.

Dr Ryan's attorney says he vigorously denies the charges.

The Franklin County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force launched an investigation into Dr. David Ryan in May 2016.

Electronic devices were taken both from his Lewis Center home and his business.

Investigators were tipped off to the alleged crimes after email transactions known to contain child pornography were linked to Ryan. Investigators from Delaware and Franklin Counties discovered evidence of both downloading and sharing child pornography.

The charges include pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and pandering Obscenity involving a minor.

Dr. Ryan made a name for himself in the fitness world when he helped organize the Arnold Sports Festival's medical team.

A spokesperson for the event says Dr. Ryan co-chaired the medical team, made up of 400 to 600 volunteers until he resigned in 2012.

Dr. Ryan heads up the Columbus Chiropractic Center in the 6000 block of Cleveland Avenue.

Investigators say they found no evidence to suggest Ryan treated children at the center.

Beginning in the early 1990's, Dr. Ryan was interviewed several times by 10-TV as an expert on injuries.

He lives in an affluent Lewis Center community. Prosecutors say Dr. Ryan's prominence and credibility serve as a reminder that you can't put a label on danger.

"You would not look at this highly successful doctor living in a huge home," Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O'Brien said. "You would not imagine he would be your typical person who views child pornography."

The Ohio Chiropractic Board says a licensed chiropractor facing serious criminal charges would have to be convicted by the court before the board could consider suspending a license to practice.

Dr. Ryan declined to talk to 10TV about the case.
