Columbus Blue Jackets forward Sonny Milano arrested for assault in New York

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Columbus Blue Jackets issued the following statement Sunday morning after reports of Sonny Milano arrest in New York.

“The Columbus Blue Jackets are aware of the reports involving Sonny Milano. We are reviewing the situation and will not be commenting further at this time.”

Media reports indicate Milano was involved in a fight at an apartment in New York where he and NHL player A.J. Greer were arrested and charged with assault.

The man who was allegedly assaulted suffered jaw and rib injuries and was with Milano and Greer an hour early at a nightclub, according to reports.

Milano was drafted in the first round by the Blue Jackets in 2014.
