COLUMBUS, Ohio — Lutheran Social Services CHOICES has teamed up with Columbus Humane to help house the pets of domestic violence survivors who live in the shelter.

"The comfort of having a pet here is tremendous. People are able to see their pet every day. They don't go through the loss and grief of missing their pet or being separated from their pet on top of everything else they are going through,” said Sue Villilo, Assitant Vice President of Community Based Services with LSS CHOICES.

The shelter's pet area has visiting rooms, outdoor play spaces, dog kennels and individual housing for cats, too.
