Cause of Newark fire under investigation

NEWARK, Ohio – No one was injured in a house fire in Newark Thursday night on N. Cedar Street, Newark Fire Chief Patrick Connor said.

The fire started just before 5:30 p.m. at a home near Allston Avenue and when firefighters arrived there were a lot of flames coming from the house.

Chief Connor said more than 50% of the home was damaged.

There was a smaller fire at the same home over the summer, according to Chief Connor.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
